Abstract
This paper presents the capacities and strategies of engineering education coping with changes in our future society. Examining recent events predicting the features of future society and its effects, convergence, communication, and contextual intelligence were indicated as the expanded capacities of engineer. Improvements, in engineering education system, were proposed to foster engineers with the capacities; the need of open education platform, differential offline program, socio-cultural understandings, and communication were pointed out. The education programs and system of Yonsei University is introduced as a possible model that provides engineering students with convergence, communication, and global competitiveness friendly environments.
